Veteran CB James and practice-squad TE Davis were released by the Jaguars

Is Thursday a releasing day? As Patriots released RB Patrick Pass one week after signing him, the Jaguars released two players on the same day.

Veteran cornerback William James was drafted by the Giants as a third-round pick in 2001 and signed by the Jaguars on Sept. 1 last year. He played in eight games with one start last season for the Jaguars.

DE Charles Davis was signed by the Jaguars on Dec. 13, 2007. He spent parts of his two seasons on the Jaguars' practice squad.

Reason for releasing the two has not been figued out. I can only wish them good luck.
