The Atlanta Falcons linebacker Robert James now can take some more time to wear his favorite Brett Favre jersey while preparing for his first regular-season game, which will be four week later than his team’s first one. According to reports, the NFL has suspended the third-year linebacker for four regular season games for violation against the league’s policy on anabolic steroids and related substance.
So James will get more preparing time than his teammates as he will be eligible to participate in team’s training camp and the preseason as well as practice facility. However, what the linebacker really worries about is that his starting job might be taken away during the time he is absent. The former fifth-round draft pick in 2008 had already lost his favor with Falcons head coach Mike Smith since the arrival of first-round pick Sean Weatherspoon. A lot of people are expecting that the rookie linebacker will win a competition for the starting role at linebacker to replace James during the veteran’s absence.
If Weatherspoon can prove that he is a much better linebacker than James, he could remain the starter even after James returns for the Falcons’ fifth regular-season game. In that case, James may regret a lot for not taking care of his off-field issues.

Raiders claimed they did not owe JaMarcus Russell anything
The Oakland Raiders seem to be bothered by the burst of reports of how wrongly the team treated their former first overall draft pick JaMarcus Russell, and they were so bothered that they had to make an official statement to prove their innocence. The statement was made on Wednesday, a few days after Russell was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, two months after the team released him.
"We did all that we could to intervene and assist with a myriad of issues with JaMarcus Russell," the Raiders said in a statement. "NFL policy restricts our ability to comment publicly at this time. Therefore, those in the media who declare what the Raiders knew or should have known or what the Raiders did or should have done, are reckless, irresponsible and offensive, and do a disservice to all concerned, including the public."
Although being drafted as a first overall draft and expected to have a brilliant NFL career with a not-bad NFL team, Russell did not live up to people’s high expectation and was extremely unproductive during the past three years. Recently his former college coach blamed the Raiders for not using the young talented quarterback in the right way, and many people began to reconsider whether Russell was really a big draft pick bust. However, Russell disappointed them again the next day by being involved in legal trouble. Wearing a throwback version of Brett Favre jersey, Russell was found by a police hiding codeine syrup in his car on his way home. He is now free on bail but under observation. It’s still not sure whether the NFL will punish the jobless quarterback by suspending him for some games. If they do, it will even less chance for Russell to find a new job.

Broncos rookie WR Decker expects contract before training camp
The Denver Broncos wide receiver Eric Decker has not yet received a contract from the team since being picked from the third round of 2010 NFL draft, but he has already being preparing for the training camp by taking part in a star-studded camp held by Arizona Cardinals star wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald.
It’s reasonable for Broncos to hesitate in signing Decker, because the rookie injured his left foot in a game against Ohio State in October. It was a Lisfranc injury that means the ligament holding the first two toes is torn and the rehabilitation usually takes a long time and with no guarantees of recovery. That is to say, Decker may have to struggle with the injury all through his NFL career. Since the rookie is always being positive about his job and working hard to improve, the Broncos have taken it easy with him so far.
Decker wears a Brett Favre jersey to participate in the Fitzgerald camp and receives lessons from Hall of Famers Michael Irvin and Jerry Rice. He said that he felt lucky for being invited and given the chance to learn from the star players. He is highly expecting a contract from the Broncos before the training camp. If he does not receive one, it could be even harder for him to find a new job with another NFL team.

Eagles QB Vick was absent from public celebrations
The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has been unavailable to any other public celebrations since the shooting happened after his 30th birthday party last week. While he has not been cleared for being innocent, he seems determined to avoid any more troubles.
According reports, there should have been an “All White” celebration on Sunday in Washington, D.C. and Vick was expected to appear for the even in a No.4 Brett Favre jersey. However, he did not appear and the participants were informed that the party was canceled. Vick has to be careful at the moment, because there have been a lot of reports saying that the Eagles were considering releasing him if he caused more troubles off the field.
It’s hard for Vick to have a job in the league. When he was just released from the prison, no team but the Eagles made the bold move to offer him a contract. Although Vick used to say that he dislikes being a backup role with team, he still chose to stay there because the Eagles could still be the only team that is currently willing to give a job.

Giants’ rookie safety Jones could quit football
The New York Giants rookie safety Chad Jones was reported to be impossible for his rookie NFL season. After being severely injured in a car accident on Friday, his left leg, ankle and foot are in bad condition now and unlikely to recover for football games, but he could still start a sport career as a baseball player.
According to Jones’ agent, Rocky Arceneaux, Jones was an elite baseball prospect and used to play pitcher/outfielder on LSU’s College World Series winning team in 2009, and playing baseball would put less stress on Jones’ injured leg than playing football, so it’s very possible for Jones to make a stellar career still by playing baseball. But if Jones really turns to baseball, he would have to repay the $848,000 signing bonus he received from the Giants.
"I’m optimistic (of a 2011 return)," Arceneaux told the Gannett News Service. "I would like to hope so. He’s such a great athlete. I think if anybody could pull it off and come back from this, it would be Chad.”
Jones’ father, Al Jones has a similar optimistic attitude toward his son’s future. While acknowledging that the healing process is going to take a long time, he believes that everything is positive right now and he will fine even if his son will no longer have chance to put on his beloved Vikings jersey to play football again.

Work at home as a designer
Many people are dreaming of earning money at home without having to get up early for work and having breaks only at weekends. But many designers are already living such a comfortable life and still earn a good salary from $50,000 to $60,000. Here are introductions of two most popular designing jobs: interior designer and graphic designer.
Interior designer is a job combining principles of art, architecture and spatial planning and is obviously a harder job than designing Minnesota Vikings jersey, but that’s also why the job is much higher paid. To make building interiors both functional and aesthetically pleasing, an interior designer has to spend a lot of time on designing. After all, a house is unlike a dress and cannot be destroyed for re-designing.
Another designing job seems easier to do and it’s called graphic designer. Such a designer works to create advertisements, brochures, logos, and other communications materials for clients, so it’s somewhat cleaner than interior designing. Such a job requires you to be a major in graphic design. It’s not necessary to be hard as you can just do it with associate's degree and or certificate as long as you learn the skill well and have some talents in designing.

WR Horn signed temporary contract with Saints for retirement
Wide receiver Joe Horn has decided to retire this offseason, but before he makes the official announcement, he wants to wear back his New Orleans Saints jersey to retire as a member of the Super Bowl XLIV champion team. So the Saints announced on Friday that they signed the former player on a temporary contract.
Horn spent seven of his 12 seasons with the Saints and he made four Pro Bowls during the tenure. Starting his NFL career as a 5th round pick drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in 1996, Horn has had 603 receptions for 8,744 yards and 58 touchdowns during his entire career. His first four seasons were all spent with the Chiefs and the last one was spent with the Atlanta Falcons.
Horn’s performance is highly praised by the Saints and Saints fans. Even former Saints star quarterback Archie Manning had a great impression on him, saying that he would love to wear back his Archie Manning jersey to pass ball to Horn so that he would have been able to win a Super Bowl. Unfortunately they played football in different times, and the two former Saints’ chance to play together could only be in Celebrities golf games.
