Jets DT Jenkins would like to see Vick playing in final exhibition

The New York Jets defensive tackle Kris Jenkins said on Tuesday that he was happy to see the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick playing again on the field, in the teams’ preseason finale Thursday night.

“I’m kind of rooting for him because I hope he does realize that he does have a second chance and I’m hoping that he does prove everybody wrong,” Jenkins said Tuesday. “I’m hoping that he does show everybody what he’s capable of. I’ve known and seen him on and off the field and I definitely think he’s a good person at heart.”

The background is that Jenkins aced Vick several times when he was with the Carolina Panthers and Vick was with the Atlanta Falcons. Playing against each other again really sounded dramatic. Jenkins would not play as much as Vick on Thursday, so he would be glad to have time to spectate a little.
