Vikings CB Winfield missed Sunday’s game against Steelers with broken foot

The Minnesota Vikings cornerback Antoine Winfield was not wearing his No. 26 Vikings jersey and did not have to go through the frustrating moment when his team was beaten by the Pittsburgh Steelers at 27-17. A broken foot kept the cornerback out of the game and reportedly he may not return until late November or early December.

Winfield was injured during the second quarter of the Vikings’ 33-31 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 18. His absence left a huge hole on Vikings defensive line and his replacement, Karl Paymah, was targeted frequently by Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco. Even after the first loss of the season, the Vikings had not comment on when Winfield would be back.

Along with Winfield, these players were also deactivated on for Sunday’s game: running back Albert Young, linebacker Erin Henderson, center Jon Cooper, wide receiver Darius Reynaud, defensive end Jayme Mitchell and defensive tackle Letroy Guion.
